Recycling "Playing Music" Suggestions

“Playing Music” suggestions are offered with every CCS Lesson. As your child develops, musical content becomes more difficult, but “Playing Music” suggestions from earlier CCS Classes can be just as effective now. For example, Rhythm Dialogue is presented in Class 2 on “Bah,” with just Macro and Micro beat patterns. In subsequent Classes, your little one engages with Rhythm Patterns that include Divisions of Micro beats, and then is introduced to Rhythm Syllables, ultimately dialoguing in Rhythm Syllables with Rhythm Patterns with Divisions. A child first charmed by Rhythm Dialogue with a microphone is likely to still be charmed by using the microphone in Rhythm Dialogue. The child’s rhythm understanding would be more developed in later CCS Classes, but the microphone may have the same power to draw your little one into Rhythm Dialogue that it did when it was introduced in “Playing Music.”

The music content of CCS Activities relates to your little one’s musical needs. Many “Playing Music” suggestions relate as much to the wonder of your child’s personality as they do to music content. Children learn through play. Dolls, trains, and balls are not graded by development, but offer opportunity for play at every level of development. Choose “Playing Music” suggestions that charm your little one, whatever his level of music development. Your child’s musical sophistication continues to grow beyond traditional expectations, yet your little one’s tender age reflects the wonder of childhood at its best. Employ your little one’s unique creativity, imagination and sense of humor and tailor “Playing Music” suggestions to your little one’s personality, preferences, and playfulness. Browse “Playing Music” suggestions as a storehouse of ideas to trigger your own creativity and to find ideas from earlier CCS Classes that might capture the wonder of your little one at this age as well as the wonder of your little maestro’s musicality. "Playing Music"
