Grammy Lab

Ah, Such Artists!

Grandchild #3, 6 months, had his first experience with an Art Song while Grammy was babysitting. She engaged in his Online Music Class so she could observe his responses to computer delivery. He listened attentively to the Art Song, thoroughly fascinated through the 4 repetitions of the song. When the recording ended, Grammy continued to sing the song.  He was equally attentive through 10 additional repetitions at 6 months old.

Grandchild #2, 9 months, also demonstrated the power of a CCS Art Song. Her Dad sang one of the Art Songs about a dozen times to her focused attention. When he stopped, Grammy continued the song for multiple verses.  The child attended throughout. The song, “Never in a Hurry,” begins with “Ah, the butterfly.” When Mommy came home, the little girl interrupted nursing, looked up at Grammy and vocalized a deliberate “ah,” as if to suggest that she and Grammy sing their song for Mommy.
