Finding Your Way Around OTEC

You enter the classroom, armed with all of your online study, and you wish you could revisit the postings about the issue you encountered in class. You completed the coursework weeks ago, so you no longer have access to OTEC Moodle. You have sustained a subscription to the SONG LIBRARY, which provides access to OTEC, but after going through so many courses/workshops for intensive study in early childhood music, how do you find particular postings without OTEC Moodle?

OTEC has been designed to be the repository of postings for the various online courses. The red button on the left entitled Early Childhood Music Educators holds all postings from the graduate course, Come Children, Sing! ME 410. There you will find, in the order presented in the course, all postings. Only through OTEC Moodle would you be able to access the weekly lessons and material “about lessons.” All else is posted in OTEC.

The red button Workshop Materials presents all postings from the workshops, Songs for Early Childhood, Foundations, Curriculum Materials, and Practice, and Teaching Techniques, in that order, with postings in the order presented in the workshops. Postings from the latter workshops would therefore be found in the latter listings. Only through OTEC Moodle would you be able to access Etudes for these workshops and the workshop on Lesson Planning. All else is posted, and all postings of My Child’s Music Development and Grammy Lab are available under their respective buttons. You will also find postings from other OTEC courses that will intrigue you.

The unique formatting of some of the workshop postings required unique placement in OTEC.  The Evolution of a Lesson Plan 1 & 2, Lesson Plan Goals, and the Anatomy of a Lesson Plan are grouped together under Multiple Lesson Plan Sources, and the extensive list of Activities for Immersion and Interaction are housed under Activities Galore.

Full access to all of OTEC, plus full access to the SONG LIBRARY will carry you a long way after you complete your coursework. If you feel you have to revisit materials that are only in OTEC Moodle, you might ask your instructor for a quest pass.
