This seminar will address the progression of the musical mind from aural beginnings to rhythm and tonal syllables and then to music reading. It will present meters and tonalities aurally and in syllables that both reinforce the aural and facilitate the connection to music reading, developing the readiness for music reading and writing. It will take participants through extensive music reading materials that increase in difficulty as children grow. Participants will receive an e-book of the Come Children Sing Institute Music Reading Library—a resource of over 150 pages of music reading materials that can be used with children at various ages and levels of development. (Special arrangements will be made to accommodate participants from distant time zones.)
